Eligibility Criteria for MCA Admission

The duration of the MCA program has been revised from 3 years to 2 years, in line with the updated guidelines outlined in the AICTE APH 2020-21. Candidates seeking admission must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Qualification Requirements

  • BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering, or an equivalent degree.
  • B.Sc., B.Com., or B.A. with Mathematics at the 10+2 level or at the graduation level. Candidates from these backgrounds may need to complete additional bridge courses, depending on the specific norms of the university.

Academic Requirements

  • A minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination (for General category candidates).
  • For candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC), a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying examination.

Additional Notes

  • The percentage criteria are calculated based on the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
  • For candidates with degrees from foreign universities, the eligibility will be subject to an equivalence certificate issued by the concerned university or authority.
  • Candidates must meet any other specific requirements or prerequisites as set by the respective university, which may include a valid entrance exam score or prior work experience in the field of computer science or related areas.
